WACA Background

Since the 1980s, with the booming economy of the Asian Chinese region, more and more Chinese and ethnic Chinese architects have been practicing in different parts of the world and have achieved fruitful results. in the 1990s, the urbanization process in Mainland China was in full swing, which accounted for almost half of the global construction volume. Many talented overseas Chinese and ethnic Chinese architects wished to return to China to participate in the domestic architectural market, while the outstanding architects trained in China were eager to quickly absorb foreign architectural design experience for practice. Under such historical background, the World Association of Chinese Architects (WACA) was established in Shanghai on April 24, 2004, which became a great event in the Chinese architectural community at that time, and gained great support and participation from Chinese and ethnic Chinese architects at home and abroad. The famous Chinese architect Mr. I.M. Pei, as an honorary founding member, highly recognized, praised and supported the establishment of WACA. We sincerely solicit retrospective (prospective) articles, papers and works from all walks of life.
